A woman was detained for ‘in disguise’ taking UK Citizenship Test. After reportedly donning numerous wigs and disguises to take Life in the UK tests on behalf of other people, a 61-year-old woman was taken into custody.

The woman was detained by immigration enforcement officials on Monday at an Enfield location on suspicion of falsifying the citizenship exams for a minimum of 14 applicants, both male and female.

She is accused of completing the examinations at several test locations in the UK while hiding her identity and falsifying identification documents to avoid being discovered.

According to the Home Office, immigration officials claimed to have found “several false documents and an array of wigs” that were allegedly used in the fraudulent operation.

Risky plan

Anyone who wants to become a British citizen or acquire indefinite leave to remain must pass the Life in the UK Test.

It comprises of 24 questions designed to demonstrate the applicant’s adequate understanding of British history, values, and society.

Inspector Phillip Parr of Immigration Enforcement’s Criminal and Financial Investigation remarked, “We have put a stop to this dangerous scheme” because of his detectives.

He went on to say: It is thought that this person planned ahead to avoid being discovered, carefully choosing test site sites and disguises throughout the nation to elude the police.

The inquiry is still ongoing, and the woman who is accused of taking the bogus exams between June 2022 and August 2023 is still in detention.
