Tesco has warned its Clubcard customers to act fast or miss out as the month draws to a close. Shoppers are being asked to verify when their Clubcard vouchers are due to expire before August 31 when millions of pounds worth are set to become invalid, writes the Express.
Customers are sent their Clubcard vouchers every three months in February, May, August and November as a reward for spending on groceries, clothing, gasoline and other products in Tesco stores. Vouchers are valid for two years from the date they are issued therefore any vouchers provided to shoppers in August 2024 are set to expire at the end of this month.
Unless redeemed, these certificates will be worthless after 11.59pm on August 31.

Tesco Clubcard
Tesco Clubcard is the supermarket’s free loyalty program in the UK that offers shoppers the chance to save money on chosen products while collecting points on their shop. Tesco’s 2025 data show that more than 24 million UK homes have a Clubcard.
The grocery giant also said over 84% of its UK sales were made by consumers using a Clubcard, showing just how popular the loyalty scheme is with Tesco shoppers. In Tesco stores, consumers can scan their Clubcard at the till or via the Tesco app.
Benefits include:
Clubcard rates
Clubcard rates – reduced rates on certain products, Clubcard members only
Clubcard points
Clubcard points – points earned on qualifying transactions, redeemable for vouchers or usage with Reward Partners participating
Personalised Promotions
Personalised Promotions – clients will get more discounts and special offers depending on their buying behaviours
For example a product may ordinarily be £3, but be available at £2 Clubcard Price. Shoppers will need to scan their Clubcard at the time of payment to get the lower pricing.
Tesco petrol offer
Tesco customers are getting a bit of respite from high petrol costs at the moment – but only until August 23. The grocery giant has over 600 gasoline stations across the UK – and says it is now offering customers a 5p off a litre.
Tesco shoppers can get 5% off their petrol if they spend £60 or more in store. Tesco customers will be provided with a coupon to save on diesel and petrol when they fill up at a Tesco forecourt.
The sale runs until Sunday 16 August, and the coupon can be redeemed until Sunday 23 August.
The maximum amount of money that can be saved with the voucher is £10 and must be shown to be paid for fuel in paper form.
The 50p trick
In the meantime, if you’re not ready to utilise your Clubcard vouchers, there is another alternative to extend their validity – the 50p trick.
For example, if you used 50p of a £5 voucher, you may get £4.50 reissued as a new voucher with a new two year expiry period.
Spend on food, clothing and gasoline can earn shoppers Clubcard points, as can purchases through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile.
